REGEN AUTONOMY – Workshop 6 – A Labor Of Love: A Teen Mother’s Reflections

Tuesday, 9 August 2022
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

A Regenerative workshop on a teen mother’s reflections: abortion, adoption, access and authority

About this event

In the wake of the overturning of Roe vs Wade, an African American Adoptee and Birth Mother shares a brief history of their experiences on both ends of the Industry and invites attendees to brainstorm for a future where unplanned children and unsupported pregnant people are at the forefront of care work for scattered bloodlines.

What you can expect

Guided breathing exercises and writing prompts, opportunities to ask brave questions, group discussion, some uncomfortable truths about the adoption industry and exciting news about action that has already been taken, various grounding and integration techniques including finger foods, body movement and self massage instruction.

What not to expect

Traumatic retellings of the details of life events. We might say something like:

“the tree was struck by lightening, this incident left its neural network exposed”

We will not say something like:

“the tree screamed as it was stripped of its bark by the lightening, the fire exposing its tender neural network it was raw and couldn’t produce sap. It cried as the sky laughed.”
