Half Day Studio Workshop with Aylsa McHugh

This workshop is inclusive, open to all abilities and previous experience is not required.

Participants will explore a variety of analogue cut and paste techniques, focusing on colour, composition, trompe l’oeil, surrealism and photomontage. A range of collage styles will be demonstrated to inspire you.  

Participants will complete at least one artwork ready for framing.   

Bring with you: 

  • paper images you would like to work with – such as magazines and picture books 
  • craft scissors and, or a craft knife 
  • a cutting mat  
  • smart phone with an inbuilt camera 

Other materials will be provided. On presentation of your ticket at Arthouse Direct at 114 Buckley Street Essendon, workshop students will be entitled to receive a 10% discount on purchases.

Artist Bio

Aylsa McHugh lives and works in Naarm, Australia. In 2002 she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne. She has exhibited in Naarm (Melbourne), Djubuguli/Cadi (Sydney), Boorloo (Perth), London and Japan. Her work is held in private and public collections locally and internationally, including The National Gallery of Victoria, ACMI and The City of Melbourne Collection.
