Small Connections: Michael Rigby

5 July 2022 - 2 December 2022

Curator:

Artist(s): Michael Rigby

Location: Ascot Vale Library

These small works provide a glimpse into reflections on my inner and outer worlds during a challenging, introspective period of my life. Artefacts drawn from the inner present views of cognition, perception, memory and emotion. Stepping out to the external, nature slowly comes to the fore as pathways weave through everyday objects, the tangible and intangible, and attachments to them. The small connections between these worlds bring insights of love and joy.

Michael Rigby is a Melbourne-based artist and designer working across paint, print and photographic media. His interests in mark-making, representation, German/Japanese aesthetics, and spirituality have led him to explore the connections between body, mind and heart, beingness, and the narratives we create across space-time.
