We are all CAPE-able – School Holiday Workshop
21 Sep / 24 Sep / 25 Sep
Free, bookings required
Part workshop, part immersive installation, We are all CAPE-able invites children ages 5-12 to become co-creators in a colourful public art experience. Guided through hands-on crafting and interactive play activities, children will be invited to utilise recycled materials to construct their own piece of wearable recycled art.
Begin at Georgina Humphries’ temporary public artwork Canopy.of.Tents. Then delve a little closer into the heart of the Crown Street Stables to discover a secret prismatic cave installation. Finally, be inspired by this colourful place for contemplation and create your own “Recycling Warriors Cape”. We are all capable of making a difference to our environment. What type of rubbish will you choose to take on?
Georgina Humphries is a public artist who has been creating installations for a range of public spaces, including large scale music festivals, local City Council streetscapes and awarded sculpture exhibitions for the past 8 years. Aidan Bryant is a qualified Primary School Teacher and current Sustainability Leader at a local government school in Melbourne.
